Cassie and Maggie @ Chalfonte Theatre

Cassie and Maggie Bring Award-Winning Celtic Folk to The Platform at the Chalfonte Theatre — Acclaimed Nova Scotian folk duo Cassie and Maggie will appear live on The Platform at the Chalfonte Theatre on Thursday, November 5, 2026, for an all-ages concert celebrating contemporary and traditional Celtic music. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., with the performance beginning at 7:00 p.m. The concert will run approximately 90 minutes.

Sisters Cassie and Maggie MacDonald are internationally recognized for their dynamic blend of traditional and modern Celtic music, featuring fiddle, piano, guitar, and striking sibling vocal harmonies sung in both English and Gaelic. Their performances are further distinguished by intricate and percussive step dancing, a hallmark of Nova Scotian musical tradition.

The duo has toured extensively across North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe, earning widespread acclaim for their musicianship and stage presence. They are winners of the Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Traditional Album for The Willow Collection, and JUNO Award nominees for Traditional Roots Album of the Year. Their work has also received multiple nominations from the Canadian Folk Music Awards, East Coast Music Awards, and Music Nova Scotia Awards, and has been praised by Irish Music Magazine and Live Ireland Radio.

Cassie and Maggie’s most recent release, Gold and Coal (2025), explores themes of duality—past and present, tradition and innovation—through a mix of original and traditional material. The album continues their reputation for honoring deep Celtic roots while bringing a contemporary sensibility to the genre.
